A SPECIAL PRESCRIPTION

Welcome back everyone
It's been a while, but I'm back with some heat for you this week...

This Weeks Prescription: FOREVER

I've got three words for Denmark- native Medina's new album to come: sexy, sexy, SEXY. To simply say that the new album entitled, "Forever," has some erotic undertones would be an understatement; "Forever" is all about the s.e.x. She manages to cover it all- from love and heartbreak, to fucking his best- friend and threesomes. But never-mind the lyrics, these beats are absolutely killer and not to mention, unique. The beats combined with her vocals, give this album an edgy/retro-chic sound- something that is attempted all too often in the Dance world, but is very rarely executed without coming across as overly exaggerated. To no surprise, Medina manages to put forth an eclectic album, oh so naturally. With that said, I'm beyond excited for her to officially release this album, as only good things are to come of it.

There are thirteen songs on this album. But don't ask me to pick a favorite because I'm obsessed with every single one. And as if her voice and music aren't enough, she's made two music videos to go perfectly with the songs "Forever" and "Happening," both of which go along with the edgy theme of the album. She also has two more videos out for her Danish songs  "KI- 10" (Danish version of "Happening") and "12 Dage" (12 Days).

Below I've posted the link to an unofficial page with all the featured songs on the album, as well as the link to the official video for "Happening". And please note that Medina has yet to reveal a release date for this album.

Enjoy and remember to take appropriate doses!

It's basically summertime and although I've been MIA since September, I've made sure to choose these tracks wisely. I'm in love with every single one of these songs and I hope they have the same effect on you. This eclectic selection of 18 songs (GREEN-18: GO CELTS!) and the prescription of the week will have you on your feet and in Summer mode in no time. So, please enjoy and remember to take appropriate doses ;)

Prescription of the Week #10: Usher ft. Swedish House Mafia- Euphoria

I've been anticipating the release of a good version of this song for about a month now. And from the moment I heard the first rip from Future Music Melbourne I knew this was going to be SO HOT. And damn was I right. I've played this 50 times alone today and I get the chills everytime. Usher has been unbelievable recently with the release of "Climax" and "Scream," but "Euphoria" is just on another level. It is without question that this is going to be flooding clubs around the world and it's only a matter of time before it becomes the next big anthem.

1. The Biebs.

Yes, the Biebs has made it onto the playlist. I have to be completely honest though- the first time I saw/ heard this song, I was doubtful. I wasn't ready to believe that Dada Life actually made a remix of "Boyfriend". But after further listening I realized that the sound was too similar to that of Dada Life's and I quickly changed my mind. I don't think anyone else could get away with a remix of anything by Bieber. Dada Life hit the nail right on the head with this one. And if you didn't like "Boyfriend" before, you're going to love it now. You're thoughts on Justin, however, I'm not so sure...

2. All you need is love.

It was hard to find a decent version of this song because it hasn't officially been released and the only available versions are rips from UMF. Nonetheless, this is my favorite song from Avicii right now. Such a fun song. If this doesn't put you in a good mood, I don't know what will.

3. Unknown artist.

I've said it before and I'll say it again Christina Skaar is UNREAL. Her vocals can make any House track sound amazing. This mix of her unreleased single "Wild" is by a fairly unknown artist that goes by the name of "Dub Kartell." Someone needs to sign this guy because this remix might be better than what we've heard of the original version. I'm not sure how he was able to combine such a wide array of sounds together for the drop, but you clearly have to be talented to be able to make it into a cohesive piece. Check it out!

4. Summer jam.

All I'm going to say about this song is it's a summertime jam; a top down, feeling good kinda song.

5. Another hit from the Danish wonder.

A previously featured artist and one of my personal favorites, Medina, is now officially under the label "labelmade." In this single, she manages to change it up a bit by incorporating a sort of retro sound, while still remaining true to her House style. I've had this on repeat for a few days now.

6. Christina Skaar and Yellow Team team up.

Another amazing single from Christina Skaar and a brilliant remix from Yellow Team. Take a listen. Be sure to check out the original mix of this song, as well.

7. Pierce Fulton on the rise.

Rising star Pierce Fulton, a youngter still studying at UVM, has cranked out yet another great mix. He took on quite the project with the original mix from these big producers and gave it an edgier sound. A job well done. Fulton has been opening for some big names. With time, I'm sure he'll become another household name.

8. Avicii: Take 2.

Avicii. Need I say more? Just when you think he's done it all, he comes out with another great beat. That "Avicii sound," as I like to call it, is unmistakable. And a perfect pairing with the sweet vocals of the legendary Lenny Kravitz.

9. Alesso and Keane.

An English alternative rock band mixed with one of the best progressive house DJ's in the game? Who would have thought that this seemingly incompatible combination would produce such a hit. Amazing.

10. Cosmic Gate.

Cosmic Gate is one of my favorite trance groups because they're always so versatile. They can give you a heavy trance tune and something a little more easy, like this track. This song has been out for some time, but this video is new. Take a look. I found it pretty cute.

11. #10 on Beatport.

This Norwegian has reached the top 10 on Beatport. It's no surprise that this subtle yet sexy track is on the rise. At first it may seem boring, but listen to it again and really get into it... the House will kick in and I'm sure you'll love it.

12. EITRO who?

Once again, I'm not really familiar with EITRO, but from what I've gathered they are a Russian artist. Regardless, this beat is hot. Love it.

13. His *hard* work has paid off *well*.

Hardwell has without a doubt been on his A-game with his recent mixes. This single with the vocals of none other than Mitch Crown solidifies his status as one of the top DJ's/producers of today. Both catchy and fun, this track is a hit.

14. Killer beat.

EDX has been coming out with a lot of hits lately, but in my opinion this is one of the better ones. I absolutely love this beat, it's fresh and different than all the sounds we've become accustomed to in this genre. EDX killed it with this one.

15. They've got the answer!

To be honest, I'd never heard of Answer42 until a few days ago. But let me tell you, they sure have the answer... to creating a great track with a blend of progressive house/ trance, that is. This dynamic trio is currently on Above and Beyond's house label (a.k.a. Anjunadeep).  This specific remix by Suspect44 sounds a lot like a chill beat Deadmau5 would come out with. What do you think?

16. Classic.

Morgan Page is out with some great new stuff. But I'm not quite sure how I happened to overlook this beauty. This is one of Page's classics and Sultan and Shepard managed to make it even better with this mix.

17. From Trance to Dance.

This Dutch artist has been around for quite some time. I remember back to the first song that I ever listened to by Miller: "Lost Connection." Moving with the times, this track is a lot more Electro/Dance, in contrast to his tendency to stick to Trance. I think it's a job well done. Be sure to also check out the "Official Emporium 2012 Anthem," in full length on Beatport.

18. High.

Definitely a catchy tune for this Turkish producer's first single. Two thumbs up!
