Summer '11 Second Edition: The perfect playlist.

Hello everyone,

Hope your summer has been filled with good times and good people. The songs I've selected for this playlist are amazing to say the least. This is one of my favorite, if not my favorite playlist on MyMusixRx so far. It's packed with new beats, as well as some new and old artists. I think each of the songs speak for themselves, so I'll let you be the judges this week. Be sure to soak up some rays while you're jamming!

Cheers!

Summer '11 First Edition: It feels like paradise, the world is closing in.. it feels so right.

Hello all,
MyMusicRx is back in full effect, with info on each of the artists and some of my input on each song! I've got a list of 10 awesome beats + 1 prescription of the week that will without a doubt make you wanna get up and dance, wherever you are.
We've reached the beginning of Summer break and it feels oh so good! I'm going to dedicate this playlist to the graduating Seniors of 2011, specifically two close friends graduating from Boston University next week: Baby Girl and Nugget. May your entrance into the real world be the start of a successful and happy life in the years to come. All the best!

I'd also like to thank everyone who has visited my blog, we've reached 400 views and it's only going to grow from here. Thanks for your support!

Much love!!
MY

Prescription of the Week #6.

So, If you remember from my spring break playlist I introduced you to a new, up- and- coming, Norwegian artist, Christina Skaar. I'm a huge fan and fully support her work. Her biggest hit, "Freedom" has even made it up to #24 on the Billboard dance chart. She's definitely on her way to becoming the next big thing. I recently discovered this remix that is SO AMAZING, I've had it on repeat for the past couple of days. Also, be sure to check out her Facebook fan page and get a sneak peek at her newest track "Ain't Gonna Fail." It's release date has yet to be announced, but all the remixes as well as the original look extremely promising. Enjoy!

Peace in the Middle East.

This Israeli music producer and DJ has been around for quite some time and has even worked and written songs for some of R&B's biggest names, including Diddy and Ashanti. He's definitely got experience under his belt and has established a name for himself, not only in his homeland, but even internationally. You can definitely hear the middle eastern influence in this song.. bonding cultures through music? Love it. I've also included his newest release "Jump" ft. Emmi on this playlist, another great dance song.

Some more Yinon.

Desert Rain Part II?

This artist is the newest addition to Mayavin Records. Sound familiar? It should- it's the musical mastermind Edward Maya's recording label, and as such it's sure to produce some great artists.

SHM.

The highly anticipated release from Swedish House Mafia... need i say more?

Alguma influência brasileira.

This DJ and Producer from Belo Horizante, Brazil is most well known for his remixes of songs put out by various artists. However, this is the first song of his own he has produced and I absolutely love it.

Tim Berg.

Avicii, Avicii, Avicii. He is definetely one of my favorite DJ's right now. This mix has been out for quite some time, but it never gets old. Sex on fire and Avicii are a lethal combination, so be sure to take appropriate doses!!

Hello, again.

This Parisian producer is, of course, most well known for his single "Hello," which topped the dance charts worldwide. This newest release is sure to be another club hit, thanks to this Hardwell mix.

TranceTranceTrance.

I've noticed that I don't include a lot of trance on my blog, so I've decided I'd change that this week. I absolutely love Above & Beyond, especially the vocalists they get on their tracks- they always make the perfect combination. If you're in the Boston area this weekend (5/21), they'll be performing at Royale nightclub Saturday night!

Real music.

Real, a Spanish DJ, is definitely one to look out for. His beats have got that relaxed tropical sound, but also that ghettotech sound that makes his music perfect for the club scene.

Move aside Pitbull and J.Lo.. Salt and Fire is here.

I'm usually not a fan of remixes that aren't sung by the original artists, but this mix is just TOO good, that it doesn't matter. Sorry Pitbull and J.Lo, I think this is better than the original.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

On this festive day I bring you 8 of my recent favorites. You'll notice there is a new track from Cascada that has yet to be released on Youtube. I have to say, I'm a sucker for Cascada so I had to include it. Nonetheless, good music is good music. And the Prescription of the Week is a hot beat right now (I'm a big Calvin Harris fan), so be sure to bump it while celebrating tonight.

Further instructions: This week's tracks are recommended with several shots of tequila. For best results, drink & listen while wearing a sombrero and poncho ensemble.

Cheers!

Underground Prescription

So, I've decided to make a special prescription this week. J. Lye, an up- and- coming rapper from the Boston area, and a good friend of mine just released his newest video "Gone," off his upcoming mixtape "Compete Until Success." I know this deviates quite a bit from what I usually post, but I have to support good music and this is a JAM. The saucy lyrics and references in this video are memorable, to say the least. Definitely my favorite track by J. Lye thus far. I also have to give props to Kid Katastrophe. The kid adds a unique element to J.Lye's sound... Possible future collaborations to come?

Enjoy!

Update for Week 4

Welcome back!

I know it's been some time since my last post, so I've made sure to provide you with nothing but the best. Summer's right around the corner, and I feel like more and more people have been hitting the gym to achieve that perfect beach bod. Thus, I've selected 10 of my recent favorite Ipod tracks plus "Prescription of the Week" No. 4, to help motivate you and make working out a little less painful. These tracks are, of course, not limited to being played at the gym. So, listen as you please & enjoy!

Spring Break Week Update

Hello all!

I'm finally back after a few busy weeks. I've been dying to get my hands to work on a kick-ass playlist for Spring Break. So here you have it- 15 amazing beats. I've worked hard and obviously only selected the best of the old and new, to aid you in your spring break escapades. You'll notice that this week I haven't included any comments below posted songs due to a time crunch, but if you have any questions feel free to ask! You'll also notice that I've featured a few songs by the artist, Christina Skaar. She's a 21 year old house vocalist/ songwriter from Norway and she's definitely on her way to becoming the next big thing. I was lucky enough to get in touch with her, but she says she's not touring in the US anytime soon. Support her and maybe that'll convince her to change her mind!

Some tips for a memorable spring break:
Drink. Jam Out. Do stupid things. Or, in the words of Charlie Sheen, just make sure you're #Winning.

Cheers!

Week 2 Update:

Welcome to all returning viewers and to all the newcomers. We've hit 134 page views in our first week, which I'm so excited about. I'd love to spread the music and make it 300 by next week. But what's most important is that you all are enjoying the featured music. I've made sure to select only the best, and I'm sure you'll be pleased with this weeks "Prescription." Enjoy the long weekend, and be sure to JTFO (Jam the F*** Out).

Cheers!

Prescription of the Week #2: Please take appropriate doses.

Freemasons and Wynter Gordon make an AMAZING combination. Dirty Talk Part 2? I think so.

love love love yeah yeah yeah

Some of my all time favorites come from Spencer and Hill. This is no exception. Love, love, love.

THE NYCER, Nice.

This is a group from Nice, France that is quickly building up their reputation in the music world. They've worked with several labels, including Armada and Ultra.  This is their newest release, but definitely check out "Losing Control" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQ_wE067qzI) if this caught your attention.

Swedish- Congolese Artist

Mohombi, most well known for his hit "Bumpy Ride" with over 25 million views on Youtube, has yet another hit under his belt. Being signed by the mastermind producer RedOne, nothing less is expected. And any song Akon is featured on is sure to make it to the charts. Be sure to also check out the French version of this song, as well (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zzrUk-PsWw)

"I'm so glad, that I got you"

If you've been clubbing recently, you've definitely heard this. It was released back a few months ago, but is still going strong. Love this mix.

Radio Killer Murders the Beat

This song has been on repeat on my iTunes for the past week. For those of you not familiar with Radio Killer, here's a bit of background: Composed of seven different artists, the actual members of the group were unknown when they came out with their first single in Romania called "Voila." One by one, they began to reveal themselves. In April of 2010, they released another single "Be Free" - another great beat.

Fred Falke's Firework Remix

Fred Falke is known for his remixes of the chart toppers. This one's no exception. Hands down, one of the better remixes of this song.

Ghost

An American producer and DJ known for working alongside Hadley Poole, Serge Devant does not upset with this club beat.

WARNING:

Further exploring this site may have severe side effects; these may include an increased risk of dancing and head-bobbing.

For those of you that know me, you know that music is something I'm very passionate about. Although, it's not something I've devoted my life too, it's without a doubt a necessity and very much a part of my everyday life. So, I've decided to share it with you on MY Music Rx. What you'll find here is a variety of songs that I find from new, old, and unsigned artists. More specifically, you'll find that most of the music I feature is a blend of House, Dance, and Electro hits. I will occasionally post music of different genres which will surely not disappoint.

I will also be posting "Prescriptions of the Week," along with several other songs on a weekly basis. So, be sure to stay tuned!

Cheers!

Prescription of the Week #1: Please take appropriate doses.

Just listen.

Welcome Back E. Prydz

Deviating a bit from the sound of his smash hits "Call on Me" and "Pjanoo," this is a great comeback for the Swedish DJ who's been somewhat mia since 2008.

Dirrrrrty

LOVE THIS. Swiss Beatz and Diddy are both legends so nothing less is expected. Dirty beat right here.

Wideboys REMIX

This is a HOT song right now, but this mix makes it even hotter.

Summer Jam

DJ Sava, a Romanian artist, is not particularly well known, but he has been around for a while. I definitely think he's incorporated that sound that's been hot in the European dance scene lately. Similar artists include Akcent, Edward Maya, and Inna, all of which are also Romanian artists. Definitely can see this being a summer jam.

Party Rock

The name of the song says it all. I hear this everytime I go out and it never gets old. One of my favorites right now, for sure.

"We’re just a part of one of those secret societies"

This brand new beat is INSANE. It actually took me a few listens to get into it, but Benny Benassi never lets down and T-pain's dirty lyrics make it even better. This one's definitely gonna top the charts.

Danish Wonder

So, I've got a little bit of an obsession with this Danish artist right now. Remember the hit sensation "You & I - Deadmau5 remix?" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1p8HlgoRHE) Well, Medina, recently signed to the major label, EMI, is back with another hit, sure to be an anthem in the clubs. Be sure to also check out "Gutter" and "In Your Arms," by Medina, which I'll soon be featuring.
